uExamS

November 2013

My new job...it's through a company called uExamS and they work with the  American Disabilities Act and people who have disabilities.   I'm hired as an independent contractor to give testing accommodations to adults with disabilities taking high stakes tests. I was hired to read a man's GED test to him--he struggles to read but has amazing listening comprehension. Yesterday I was hired to record--type--a young man's written essay on his graduate admissions test because he has cerebral palsy and typing is a challenge. It's really easy and I'm helping people reach their goals and dreams despite their disabilities.

All if the clients are given extended testing time as a testing accommodation --lots of extra time!!-- they usually use some but I've always been done early. It's a huge blessing cuz I'm paid the entire time of an assignment even if it finished early. Yesterday I was scheduled 7:30am-4:45pm. I was done at 12:30, but got paid until 4:45. We are so blessed to have two grandmas ready to babysit the boys and I like getting out of the house to work. This month I've had one job a week, which has been the perfect amount. I don't have any job for December yet..praying they will come. :)

Looks like the baby may finally be back to sleep. That whole--party in my crib @3am thing is legit tonight! Usually he nurses and falls right back asleep. Not just now. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving sweet friends!!

I need timer. week of 11.17.13

Monster fruit snacks enjoyed in the bath after going pee pee in the potty.

We use the timer for everything: brushing teeth, cleaning up toys, leaving a play date. You name it--we time it.

Playing right beside baby Landon.
The pumpkin goes everywhere. It holds all of his treasures. Yes it is over 3 weeks after Halloween.

Daddy was in Seattle area for a week doing training for work. We talked on face time daily. Since Wes was staying with Aunt Kelsey and Uncle Peter Colton wanted to see their dog,Honey, daily and Daddy's white work truck.

We had dinner that week with both sets of grandparents.

First snow! @ 2.5 years

November 5,2013
(That Colton remembers!)

We read books that have pictures of snow. He's seen it on Thomas the Train and other kid shows. But yesterday was the first snow fall he's experience..and remembered. While Colton was sleeping Wes opened the blinds in his room. I was getting ready and just heard excited exclamations of "it's 'nowing!" I looked in his room and he'd climbed out of bed and was standing on a toy to get a better look out the window. He was so so excited! I had to talk him into breakfast and then out of his pajamas and into clothes with snow gear on top. He played in the backyard for an hour in the snow and with his tractors. It was so fun to watch. When he realized we were going to drive the van in the snow...well that was a whole other element of fun. He talked about snow on the cars, fence, street...on and on. Colton was so bummed it didn't last...but I promised him there would be a lot more to come.
