Swim class!

March 2014

What a fun month of swim class for Colton!
Mondays and Wednesdays @ 4pm in March
Colton took swim lessons at the YMCA.

Oma came to a class and so did Grandma Anna when she was visiting. Daddy came every other Wednesday when he was off work.
He liked class so much that he didn't want to get out of the pool at the end!
He did great in the water! No fear, except for getting water in his eyes. "I no like that," he would say. Because of this, jumping in the pool wasn't his favorite thing. However, at the end of the class he was jumping in! Yay for Colton!!
And he worked on two things: "listen to my teacher and not splashing."

even after going a few times...he was still timid to start and it took him a while to warm up to the idea of swim class.

At his last class he jumped in the pool twice!
AND went down the huge water slide. ALL BY HIMSELF! (he did bump his head on the way down and tells all about it...but still!!)
Our big swimmer suggested McDonald's to celebrate. "I like chicken nuggets," he says. "Do you like them, too, Mommy-Daddy?"

Grandma Anna came to visit in March for a week. She loved coming with us to Jump and Bounce and swim class. Grandma Anna and Colton also had some fun play time together while we attended our Parenting with Love and Logic class at church.

look who's sitting up all by himself!!

Sweet Landon! I can't believe you are so busy and so into everything at 7 months!! You are army crawling SO fast all over the house. You follow Mommy and Colton everywhere we go. You just learned how to sit up all by yourself when we set you on the ground. And before we knew it you were going from army crawl to sitting up to army crawl...over and over again!

You are the happiest baby with the best disposition. You smile easily. Laugh with such joy. And think brother is the funniest of all. You are a watcher and love to be in position to see all the action (and there's a lot of action with big brother around!!). You adore to be cuddled, snuggled, and held.

It's a busy time of motion for you, so you have started to eat more and more! You are eating baby food (usually at lunch and dinner) and milk only.

With all the motion and food, you are exhausted! We have started to put you in your crib sleepy, but awake. It's cute to come and see what position you are sleeping in once you have stopped protesting your (much needed!!) nap.

You play with any toy you can find, preferably anything that belongs to Colton. It drives him crazy to share, but I think it's great for him to learn. :)

You have the most expressive and watchful eyes! They are this beautiful brown, grey combination right now.

Landon enjoys the bouncer that his brother used before him and our buddy, Caleb, before that.

Big helper pushing little brother. He's a pretty good driver...with just a few curb checks. :)

Landon's 1st stroller ride without the car seat attachment. He loves to look and watch where we are going. Usually he ends up taking a nap since it's so soothing.

It's still chilly in March in Spokane compared to Vegas temps we are used to but compared to January and February it's balmy here!! After bring cooped up inside for the winter we are ready to get out and go for walks and play outside and welcome spring! This day we caught a nice break in the chill and wind so out we went!

Naps on the walk are the best.

I love this boy to the moon and back.

He challenges me to be a better mom.

To put others first.

To pray and seek wisdom in this crazy thing called parenting.

To love unconditionally.

oh Landon. He looks to me and isn't so sure how this is going to go down. He's such a good sport. And with Colton as his big brother I see this look on Landon's face A LOT! Good thing Mommy and Daddy are right there to referee. :)

C: I feed Yando like dis.

M: You're such a good brother! Try putting less food on the spoon. And Landon doesn't seem to like it when you shove the spoon so far back in his mouth. See him gag???

C: Oh. (Tries again)

M: Much better!

C: See! Yando likes baby food. When I feed it to him.

Katie & I went early to decorate. I couldn't have pulled off the party without my sweet friend's help!!

Landon didn't want to nap in his car seat and I had so much to do...so into the a Ergo carrier he went. There was so much going on that he didn't sleep! (The Ergo usually puts him right to sleep.) So, here I am hanging streamers and balloons with a sweet little baby snuggled close.

There's our birthday boy racing! He had practiced racing all over the house the night before his party, only to be super shy at the beginning of the race with his friends.

No nap the day before. No nap today. Makes for a rough time.

We are so blessed!!
Family and friends came to celebrate our son's 3rd birthday.

After the party we ate dinner at Drew & Briana's. One of our first visits to their house after we moved home had Drew "drawing" a soul patch like his on Colton's chin. Drew bought a pack of these fake mustaches and Colton chose these. Hysterical!!
