Welcome spring on the Centennial Trail

May 1, 2014

We went on a long walk on the Centennial Trail as a family on May 1st.
Spring here is beautiful!! We ended our walk at Mirabeau Park and Colton played for a bit. Landon looks so pleased...he had just woken from his long snooze in the stroller.

Cat Tails

May 8, 2014
On Daddy's birthday we checked out Cat Tails.
Colton was intrigued for, oh...., 10 minutes. (if that!!)
He had so much more fun digging in the dirt.
We think it's safe to say that big zoos will wait for at least one more year.

The zoology students were such a wealth of knowledge! On this day we were one of three families at Cat Tails so we got a lot of individualized attention and got to see the students feed many of the cats treats to get them to come close to the fence.

A&W's birthdays!

May 2014
My sweetie started the birthday celebrations off right by bringing home my favorite ice cream and flowers on the eve of my 35th birthday.

May 7th we celebrated Mommy's birthday with a coffee date with Daddy and Landon, then went to Landon's 9 mo well-check during preschool. Then ice cream after preschool with Oma and Opa. Followed by dinner with Grandma Jules, Bompa and Syds.

May 8th we went to Cat Tails to celebrate Daddy's birthday and then to Oma and Opa's for dinner.

Let's ride!

April 30, 2014
Looks like this little guy is taking over big brother's Cozy Coup! 1st ride today and this huge grin says how much of a kick it was!

After weeks of using tip-toes to push himself around on his bike he peddled today for the 1st time

Landon 9 months.
Colton 3 years.
Big brother kept helping little brother steer the wheel and honk the horn. "I teach him to drive and honk the honk."

Here's how we played today:
Colton rode his bike ahead of us.
Landon in cozy coup and Mommy pushing.
Colton is speedy and would stop here.

"I give Landon a kiss." He'd stick his head, with huge helmet, into car to kiss brother.
"I teach him to drive and honk."
We did this routine at least 1,000 times.

Getting gas so we can continue going.

Look how big Colton is in the car!
I remember not too long ago when the Cozy Coup was Colton's preferred mode of transportation.

This warms my heart. Hours of play. Outdoors!! It's a perfect 72 degrees today. I love spring in Spokane!! I think our boys do, too.

Preschool week 2

Tree huggin' soccer playing with Opa, outdoor lovin' Colton.

This boy loves school!!!

stunning spring blossoms.

Look what parked across the street during "schooling with Oma"!

Colton loves to practice cutting with Oma. She has taught him how to safely carry his scissors and how to cut. He then got to glue down what he cuts. So creative!!

June 26: A great day.

What a great day.
{content sigh}
Nothing made this day extra special.
It truly was a normal day.
But everything just felt right.
My heart is so full tonight, after this great day, that I had to write it down so it'd be forever in my memory.
Was it a perfect day?
Haha, no.
Still toddler time outs.
 Still frustrating parenting moments.
Still stressed about jobs, money, the future.
Still, always!, exhausted.
But it was something.
Or maybe the combination of several somethings all smushed together to make this particular day great.

Breakfast with my 90 yr old grandpa with the best French toast ever.
A visit with my 92 yr old grandma who was so exhausted from life she needed help getting dressed.
An 11 month old baby who took 3 steps--all on his own!!!--for the first time in front of Mommy AND Daddy and his Great Grandma Nore.
A hot pot of strong coffee with homemade creamer shared with my love of 7 yrs as we watched our two boys play cars together.
The rainiest afternoon that had our outdoor loving, can't stop bike riding, must play in the dirt 3 yr old saying "Dad, I'm tired of all that rain coming today."
A night that my sweetie brought home dinner unexpectedly and I was so overjoyed that I didn't have to cook dinner or do dishes.
The announcement of a Family Movie Night had our first born son spinning circles in sheer delight. He has heard about such movie nights, but we had yet to have one.
Our 1st ever "Night Movie" as a family. Winnie the Pooh on Netflix.
Blankets and pillows spread on the floor.
Us.
Snuggled up close and cozy.
Baby boy crawling all over us.
So happy to have us all at his level his was giddy with loud squeals.
And then a parade.
We followed the cutest little blonde haired, blue eyed boy around the house and up the stairs to bath time as he shook his maraca like he was leading a matching band.
That's it.
What makes today
A great day.

1st day of preschool!!

April 23, 2014

Colton goes to "Oma's school" on Wednesdays for about 3 hours.
It's a win-win for all of us. Oma loves to teach her grandson and have special one-on-one time with him. Colton loves to go to Oma's for school and learn new things. Mommy loves when she gets one-on-one time with Landon (usually to run errands, but sometimes to have a coffee date with Daddy when he's not working or meet Grandma Jules for lunch).
So, really that would be a win-win-win. :)

He is SO EXCITED!!!
