have i mentioned lately that this man is my favorite??

loved our date night...with family too!
Auntie Syd is a great babysitter...they watched Elmo videos at the house. His fave.

that's me and Julie.

my Aunt Bickie, me, Julie.

my Uncle Gary and Aunt Bickie
(they drove over from Port Townsend to see us)

how cool is this??
such a lovely evening!!

my baby brother, Tanner...okay he's almost 21...
he works as a prep chef and expediter in the Clark House kitchen.

the view of the lake from the Clark House lawn.

laughing hysterically over the fact that Dad was struggling taking our picture...or so we thought.
he really took a ton...a whole photo booth worth. I chose the funniest 2 to share. :)

helper, reader, climber.

@17 months.
For the longest time Colton was terrified of the blender and the ninja (pictured).
Now he is my big helper in the kitchen!!
I get either appliance out and he wants to help immediately.
so sweet!!

"ahhhhhhh"
he makes this noise when we run the garbage disposal, ninja, or blender.
it's adorable!!

my happy helper!!

I turned around and captured this.
thankful for my camera close!!

be still my heart.

new diaper boxes = new climbing challenge!

@ 18 months.
all summer Colton was terrified of the mini-vacuum. terrified.
then, upon returning from vacation...he wanted to vacuum.
all. the. time.
so, we let him. (why stop a boy who wants to clean!!)
bonus for us...eventually it needs to be re-charged. :)

finding the crumbs.
Our BIG helper!!

sweeping at the lake in Idaho. we did this daily...if not several times a day!!

Summer Vacay! 2012

vacation or bust!!
Stumbaugh family of 3 is bound for Spokane, WA and Hayden Lake, ID.

a VERY tired boy en route to Spokane.
Unfortunately flying to and from vacation happened smack-dab in the middle of Colton's nap time.
He did AWESOME on both flights (non-stop is our favorite way to fly with a baby!!). He slept a bit on each flight, ate snacks, and watched "Colton Videos".
A very good traveller indeed!!

Las Vegas airport.

1st night at the lake.
Grandma Jules and Auntie Syd are in charge of bath time!!

Grandpa Mark chats with his grandson during breakfast on Day 2.

typical breakfast at the lake.

Colton was so excited each and every morning to see the dog.
The dog, however, was still wanting to sleep and wasn't so sure why this loud little boy was pestering her so early.
Frozen blueberries and bananas.
the face I get when I say "Smile for Mama!!"
love the cheesers smile. :)
It seems to be his grown-up version of scrunchy face.

Spokane tourists.

Riverfront Park.
So pretty!!!

I'm very excited about the carousel
...so many memories of riding it when I was a little girl!!

initiating Steph to carousel riding and grabbing rings.

Syders.
Isn't she so stylish?? Love.

check my intensity about grabbing a ring.
one of my rings I tossed made it into the clown's open mouth!! I was so excited!!

about to go on the Gondolas over the Spokane Falls!!

Wes' photo shoot. Hysterical.

sisters!!

our photo shoot.
We are cute!!

Steph, Syd, Me.
paparazzi was everywhere!!

Spokane Falls.

this is the gondola we rode in over the Spokane Falls and back up.
it was a very hot day and they warned us that with minimal ventilation, it would be mighty toasty inside.
No joke...over 95* inside.
ultimate tourist!!
yummy lunch at Rock City Grill.
Drew and Briana joined us for a bit more time together. :)
Oma loved on Colton while we played.
They had a perfectly lovely time!!
Look who's awake and so happy after a nap!!
I'm guessing just Colton napped...but maybe Opa did, too.  :)

Jamie & Alli

The end of July brought a goodbye that I've come to dislike greatly.
God sends the most amazing ladies to work in Las Vegas each summer for Week of Hope. We are beyond blessed to share our summer with them.

Week of Hope summer staffers, Jamie and Alli, were done working in Las Vegas and were headed back.
We bonded over laughs, delish food, a bit of Sonic junk food, problem solving, text messages, fixing SOS situations, sharing about ourselves, and crashing at our place for a week.
I had high expectations for 2012 summer staffers after last year's ladies...and it is the truth when I say expectations were met.
I know God used this summer to mold, teach, and love Alli and Jamie. Coolest part is that He did the same in me.

Jamie, Colton, Alli.
Oh, and don't forget the red broom that our sweet boy insisted it be brought into the house...only to practically knock everyone in the head and all the pictures off the walls. As soon as possible the red broom found its way back to the garage. Can't blame our boy for loving to clean!!

saving one another from the attacking broom!!

begins teaching year #11.

my guys helped move furniture in my classroom last Tuesday.
going into school with an 18 month old is, well....., challenging at moments.
here's how it went down (in no particular order...and several items were repeated often):
a few meltdowns (picture echoing cries in the hallway)**, happy camper watching "Colton Videos", snacks, needing Mama to hold him while she tried to arrange, rearrange, and direct Daddy where to put furniture, helping carry items.
phew. exhausting!!
My amazing man helped countless other teacher friends of mine move their heavy furniture this day. He's a rock star!!
**p.s. the cries in the hallway were my son's...not mine about returning to work. however, he was definitely reflecting my heart in not wanting our sweet summer to end.
