frozen peas.

frozen peas.

he picked through the defrosted peas and only ate the frozen peas.
he asked for seconds. then thirds. then fourths. then we cut him off.

and today he likes peas!

earlier this week at Jason's Deli he ate all the peas off of Wes' salad.
So odd we thought since he hasn't liked peas in such a long time.

getting ready for the Stumbaugh family reunion and some fun times at the California BEACH in less than 2 weeks!!! wooohoooo!
another garage sale find from yesterday. $1 for beach digging toys. :)

Where's your...

Colton,
Where's your.....

We will ask Colton to point to his body parts.
He's sooo smart!

here's a quick
{PHOTO BOOTH}
please forgive the blurry photos...my phone wasn't playing nice.
not to mention this little guy doesn't hold still long!

sweet face?

lovely smile?

funny face??

teeth?

tongue?

eyes?

nose?
yes, he almost always ends up with his finger up his nostril when we ask where his nose is.
he used to touch the side of his nose, as if touching where my nose ring is but on himself. too funny!

ears?

hair?

teeth?
he pointed to mine for this one.

chin?

he can also point to his fingers, hands, knees, toes, and of course belly. :)

rain, broom walking, and deals.

Tuesday
Colton woke up from his nap to see the HUGE rain storm we were having. He drug his alphabet train outside to enjoy the water falling in buckets!

Tuesday.
The view out my window at work.
We called this Lake McCaw.

Wednesday.
Morning routine: milk and an Elmo show.
He is enthralled with Elmo!!

Yummy in my tummy!

sweet baby blues.

Tuesday.
We splurged and went out to dinner at Jason's Deli. It was a wonderful family meal and Colton ate a ton! He enjoys the salad bar with all of the choices.
Some families take their dogs for a walk.
The Stumbaughs take our brooms for a walk.
:)

stopped on our walk to yell at the sprinklers.

Saturday.
One person's trash is another person's treasure.
Dianna's daughter had out-grown this barn...so at her garage sale Saturday I picked this up for $2. He's one happy boy and so is his Momma for the amazing price!!

back to routine.

The 2nd week of school brought back routine.
Going to sleep early.
Getting up early.
Colton's new word. (bus)
Colton doing better and better as I leave for work.
Colton going straight to babysitter when Wes drops him off.
(Colton just waves and blows kisses. No tears during week 2!)
Finding time for me.
Needing time to clean but being so tired from a full work week!
Squeezing in grocery shopping, laundry, and meal planning.
P.S. I miss summer.

so serious.
so handsome!

swatting at a fly is so funny!

trip to Lowe's on Daddy's Tuesday.

Colton said "BUS" this week.
it is the sweetest sound.
he thinks every truck is a bus.
adorable.

a little pony ride after nap.

blowing kisses.

his all-time favorite. meal, snack, all the time food.

Saturday morning snuggles over cartoons, cherrios, and coffee.
This little boy didn't get Mommy's memo about sleeping in past 6:30a on the weekends.

airplane watching.

Shutterfly calendar 2012-2013

my Shutterfly calendar 2012-2013.
used Pampers Rewards Points.
just paid $8 shipping!

I set up each month with a specific theme I wanted for photos.
I tried my best to find and use photos from the previous year of that month so that we can really see how much Colton has changed.
On our family's birth date...it has their photo! What a fun touch.
The best part...I can make another calendar next year and just change out the pictures. The birthdays, anniversaries, and special dates will stay!
And yes, I started my calendar with August, not January.
Being a teacher, I count my years in school years, not calendar years. :)

we take a photo each year on our anniversary...our fingers showing how many years we've been happily married!

feeling crafty.

This was my project in July. Of course days before we go on vacation I decide to get it done. geez. Waiting to the last minute!

new message board center:
calendar
grocery list
cup for pens
cork for lists
cork for pictures, announcements, cards, ect.
eventually I have a cool wire with clips to hang up all of Colton's art work. I just think it'll hang too low and thus be mighty tempting for his little 18 month curious fingers.
I'm worried enough about the thumbtacks! (he hasn't found them...yet!!)

after.
my message center.
I chose the wall that is to the side of the pantry. It is isn't visible from the front door, or even as you enter the kitchen. It is more organized than what I had before and since it is a bit hidden...I am one happy camper with the finished product.
before.
I liked these plates...but I was tired of them. Plus I wanted a more organized space for our family's items.

before.
had this already...it just had fabric over the cork.

after.
sprayed painted brown....spray paint from Lowe's $4.
sanded the edges to give it a worn look.
bought the cup holder for $2 at Target.
sprayed it brown to match and attached it with liquid nails.

my Shutterfly calendar.
LOVE this.
using Pampers Rewards Points I made this calendar. only paid shipping...$8
when it is some one's birthday, I put their picture on that day.
each month has a theme of pictures.
(maybe that will be my next post!! you just have to see how cute it is.)

cork board.
painted it green.

cork board with frame...already had it.
added the scrapbook paper that I already had.

now for the master bedroom:

before.
had this in my apartment. loved it but it doesn't match anything in our house.
I have kept it all these years...and then...ta da! spray paint.

after.
isn't it pretty in our room?
those bed side lamps are new too.
clearance at Lowe's. :)
I was super excited...I've had my eye on them for over a year!
They really complete the room.
