@ 18 months....

Colton weighs 28.5 pounds and is 34 inches tall. His pediatrician thought he looked like a 2 year old, not an 18 month old this week when we saw her!! She was charmed by his cute personality and she was laughing at his funny faces as he was putting on a show for her.

jumps up and down--2 feet off the floor. (this is usually part of his happy dance...more than likely when he gets to watch Elmo)
LOVES watching videos of himself on our phones. It's so cute to watch Colton as he watches himself.
playing in his closet...sliding the doors back and forth. usuallly until one of the doors comes off the tracks.
going into his closet to do his "business" in privacy.
uses a tape measure as phone, holds it to his hip, waves good-bye to me, and pretends to go out the garage door to "work"...just like his Daddy. this one melts my heart!
floating on his back in the bathtub...and flipping over to his belly with those scrumptious little buns sticking out of the water.
puts Daddy's electric razor to his cheek and makes a buzzing noise...pretending to shave like he's seen Daddy do every morning for work.

ALL about vacuuming. He asks to vacuum by standing near the fridge, "uh, uh" in his little squeak, and pointing up and then signing "please!!"

Colton sized table and chairs.

Colton mastered the stairs on vacation. He was pretty good just from quick visits to our friends' houses that have stairs. Going up and down stairs in Washington and Idaho was essential...and it was a fun game for Colton! He got to be SO fast going down on his belly.

Coltons is a smart cookie:
will find his shoes to go outside or when we are leaving.
completely understands what we are saying.
will put himself in time out (on the time out rug) if he hits or bites. he'll do these actions on purpose and then walk over to the time out rug. we try not to let him see us laugh!
has fantastic hand-eye coordination.
Colton mimics so many things we do! From vacuuming to sweeping to talking on the phone. It's adorable...yet reminds us what an important job parenting is since we are training our young son.

He is so quick to figure out any new toy...and this is definitely his newest fave!

Colton's schedule:
6:30- 7:00 am wakes up
bottle of whole milk.
7:15 am up and running!! playing, finding books, maybe one Elmo's World show.
8:00 breakfast.  blueberries, strawberries, toast, bananas.
8:45 more play...cars, building with blocks, pulling apart a q-tip and blowing the cotton across the floor...anything that tickles his fancy.
11:00 lunch. cheese stick, crackers, pears, really anything he'll eat!!
11:30 prepare for nap: brush teeth, read books, snuggle, songs.
12:00-3:00 nap time.
snack after nap time. crackers and ice water.
4:30 share a smoothie with Mama.
5:30 dinner. we offer him as much of our meal as he'll take. usually it isn't much. so....more fruit, cheese, bread, etc.
6:00 we play outside cuz it's not too hot.
7:00 bathtime.
7:30 bottle, brush teeth, books, snuggle, songs.
8:00 bedtime.

Colton's sizes:
in shorts and t-shirts = 2T
in pajamas = 3T
shoes = 7
diapers = 4

they light up!!
these new (to us) shoes light up when Colton walks.
He thinks it is the coolest thing ever.

Colton's weekly schedule:
I work from 7 am to 3pm
Monday--with Daddy until noon. Monica (our babysitter--that we know from church) and her 3 year old daughter come over to our house. Colton naps from 12 to 3.
Tuesday--Colton spends all day with Daddy since this is one of his days off work.
Wednesday-- same as Monday.
Thursday & Friday--Daddy takes Colton to Monica's house (they live 5 minutes away!!). I pick up Colton here. He loves their house becuase of the new toys!! His favorites are currently: the car that he can get into a drive (it's pink so we think he needs boy colors for his Christmas present for our house!) and yesterday it was the little girl's pretend lipstick. Wes wasn't too happy when I told him that was his favorite toy for the day! :) hahaha!



floating on his back in the tub...well, he might have taken all the water out by the time I took this picture. But imagine him floating and making a loud "aaaaahhhhh" noise since it sounded so neat with his ears under water. :)
