Colton LOVES to "play" in piles of clean clothes.
He'll run after me when I go from the dryer to our bedroom.
He'll race into his room when I empty the dryer of his clothes.
He body-slams himself into the pile of clean clothes.
He grabs them and rolls around in them.
He throws them up in the air and let's them fall on his head.
He buries his Tow Truck (or any toy) in the pile.
"Where Tow Truck go? Dere you are!"
He is so creative and cute!

sweet words @27 months

I was exhausted yesterday. So the minute we got home from babysitters and work  I got snacks and ice water for all, turned on Thomas the Train, and crashed into the recliner.
This little love bug climbed right up next to me to snuggle, snack, and make his Momma's heart melt. 

"Hi Momma. Love you."
followed by a big hug.

all of it initiated by him.
this is the first time he's said Love You on his own accord; not repeating it after me.
I love him so very much.

Honor Marriage Conference

Friday night was the start to the marriage conference at our church, Hope.   

Saturday morning was full of time to reflect as a couple, check in, and pray. 

5:00 p.m. Saturday.
Hope offered free childcare during the entire marriage conference. Without it we wouldn't have been able to attend since we don't have family in Vegas that could take Colton.
Friday night we were at church from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00am to 12:30pm.
It threw Colton off his normal schedule. So much so that he refused a nap when we got home Saturday. The pictures here show a completely exhausted boy that finally fell asleep in my arms. Unfortunately he got a mini nap since I still wanted him to go to bed at his regular bedtime of 8:00. 

so tired that moving him and rearranging him wouldn't wake him!!

They also attended the marriage conference and this is them enjoying their date night out.
We couldn't go out Saturday night since Wes was working until 9pm. The church was also providing free childcare while couples went on a date Saturday night. How awesome is that? I love that they encouraged that after the conference.
We had talked about a date night on Sunday night...but I forgot to book the babysitter! :(
Dianna overheard my convo with Wes and offered to take Colton so we could go out. What a blessing our friends are!! 

Dianna made this collage of the kiddos for us. Colton had a blast with his buddy Jaylyn. Oh, and they have a dog. Colton was in heaven!!

Birthdays! @27 months

Kristi and I share the same birthday so we love to celebrate together.
She has graciously let us crash her traditional birthday dinner at Metro Pizza the past two years.  This year we expanded our celebration to include my Mom and Kristi's step-daughter.
We had a blast!

we had been talking about birthdays for a couple days with Colton.
He remembers that birthdays come with ice cream. So when asked about birthdays he would say:
"bithday to you." and "ice keem"

Yes, that would be our son on the FLOOR of the restaurant. oh my. 

only Colton could sweet talk Aunt Kristi into playing cars with him on the restaurant floor. he is very convincing and oh so cute!!

Colton loves bathtime and doesn't like to get out. So, wrinkle toes are an often occurrence nightly, 

after bath Colton gets wrapped up in his towel.
This night he also stood on his "step stool" so he could see himself in the mirror.
