Summer 2011: Ariane, Colton, and I were chilling in Hayden Lake, ID and we were enjoying time with both of our families. Ariane and I have always dreamed of moving closer to family some day, but with our jobs in Vegas we could never see it becoming a reality. Enter Colton and we seriously gave this dream some more thought. Discussion began with both sets of parents and we quickly realized this was a bigger decision than we anticipated. Vacation time over and the dream faded as flew back to Vegas.
Summer 2012: Ariane, Colton, and I were chilling again in Hayden Lake, ID. We sat down on the deck overlooking the lake with the dream of moving home creeping back into our minds. Each summer was beginning to get tougher to leave, especially now that an active grandson was in the mix. Discussion came up once again with both parents and this time we were armed with a game plan and goal in mind. Lord willing we would get pregnant and have another little blessing before summer of 2013, Wes would begin to look for work in the summer/fall and get a job offer, and our house would sell or we would rent it out. I say Lord willing because this was our hearts desire and it was ultimately up to Him to orchestrate this, because there was absolutely no way we would be able to plan all this purely by ourselves. This summer we had our parent's blessing as well and they were on board with the proposed gameplan. Vacation time drew to a close, but our dream did not fade.
Summer 2013: I had the privilege to run a summer camp in Las Vegas the past three summers and this was the last summer of a three year commitment in Las Vegas. It was a great run, awesome ministry opportunity, and with this being the end, it fit well with the gameplan of moving home this summer/fall. We were also able to get pregnant this past year and on July 23, Landon William arrived! Two weeks later, I received a job offer from a company that just opened in Spokane, called Vivint. Our house is on the market and we are excited to announce that the Stumbaugh crew is headed to Spokane in September! Praise God and thank you to all of our friends and family for your support and understanding as we pursued this dream of being closer to our family.
This would be the deck where dreams began, prayers were said, plans discussed, and future family gatherings together will take place. Thank you God for listening to the cry of our heart.
