Two weeks already!
[day 14]
Colton is now 8 lb 13 oz
and his doctor says he'll have an outie belly button. Cute!
We had to snap this photo because the babe is usually crying his head off at this point because he he knows what's coming next: diaper change = nakey. But today he was tuckered out from his 2 week doctor visit & his hearing test at the hospital (he passed with flying colors today). Oh, and this mom & dad had their first meal out--at Firehouse Subs. Quite an accomplishment!

Snuggles with Daddy.
P.S. Huge praise...Wes had a career high in sales on President's Day!!
So thankful & so proud of my hubby!

Aunt Bickie & Uncle Gary were so helpful during their stay. Colton spent many hours cuddled up and sleeping in Aunt Bickie's arms.

sleep, coffee, and nachos
[day 12]
I am one happy momma today! Until last night....the only way we could get Colton to sleep at night was by holding him--this meant we slept in the recliner or on the couch since we brought him home. Last night I got to sleep in my bed, next to my husband, with my baby beside us in the bassinet for the first time!! AND Lil' man slept from 3:00am -8:00am with only a diaper change and fast feed at 6:00. LOVED MY SLEEP!
Colton sound asleep in his bassinet.
Until last night, he'd only slept there during the day.

Today's field trip:
The McCurdy's were at Lake Las Vegas for a wedding, so we met up with them for coffee.

a family of 3
[day 11]
Wes went back to work today after 10 days off to be with Colton and me. I wanted to cry as he left because it felt as though the 'babymoon' was over. It has been such a wonderful 10 days as we have gone from being a married couple to a family of three. We have a son. We're learning to be parents. We're learning a whole new level of teamwork. We've found a love deeper than we knew existed for each other and for our baby. It's been an amazing time that I will never forget.
When we realized the due date for our baby (with a c-section on February 15th originally), we realized that if Wes were to take time off of work he'd miss the sale for President's Day weekend at work. Since he works 100% commission, we knew that we'd be trusting God to provide since he'd have the potential to make in two days what he could make in a week. When Colton decided to come on February 8th we quickly realized that Wes would be returning to work on February 19th--just in time to make the big sales. God is taking care of us by having Colton come early--it has worked out perfectly...in such a way that only God could create and make happen.

My little monkey

Today was 'newborn picture day' with Chelsea Robbins. Poor Colton HATED it. The idea was for him to have a full belly and to sleep through the entire thing so Chelsea could take sweet sleeping baby photos. Yea, not this boy. He's obviously in charge, and stubborn, and just not a fan. However, Chelsea totally rocks--stayed an extra half hour to get some great shots--and snapped pictures in between his cries. I can't wait to see what she captured.
