baby's 1st Halloween!

baby's 1st pumpkin patch

Life is so much more fun with Colton!
We love you little one!

Happy 1st Halloween to our little Bugga Boo!

so unsure in new surroundings.

he takes a bit to warm up to new textures.

looking concerned.

hmmmm...this one looks about my size.

I'll take it!

Colton watched everything and everyone in the pumpkin patch. (mind you, this is the desert. our pumpkin patch = a dirt parking lot in the middle of town. not quite what we are used to from the Pacific Northwest, but it'll have to do.) He was very observant to the colors, textures...all of it so new to him. When he is in a new environment it takes him a while to warm up and show that famous smile we all love so much. I am so happy he was showing the camera some joy in our family pic.

3 day weekend of fun (part 1)

This is Sydney's journal entry for school--I asked her if I could borrow it because I thought it was so sweet.

12 Ways My Nephew Colton is cute!

1. his smile
2. his laugh
3. his clothes
4. his cheeks
5. his noises
6. his nose
7. his hands and feet
8. when he sleeps
9. when he eats
10. when he takes a bath
11. his hair
12. his eyes

"Pretty much everything he does is cute." --Auntie Syd

Grandma Jules soaking up snuggles with her grandson.

Auntie Sydney loving on Colton.
and reminding Grandma Jules she needs to share the little cutie pie. :-)

Sydney is the best auntie to Colton. She jumped right in there to watch Wes feed Colton dinner. Wes quickly handed over the bowl and spoon, gave a few pointers and Sydney then fed Colton the entire bowl of pureed butternut squash. She's a natural! And I LOVE her facial expressions when feeding her nephew. She's such a sweetie.

My Dad, Julie, and Sydney came to visit us Oct 27th-30th and we had an awesome time!
Of course they had seen pictures and we had skyped, so they'd seen Colton and could tell he'd changed since they'd last seen him in August. They were so amazed at how much he'd changed when they saw him in person:
crawling every where, not just rolling & scooting.
pulling himself up and cruising along furniture.
and eating baby food.
full of smiles and laughter (this hasn't really changed much, it's just much more amplified since he's older)
( and he was full of giggles especially for his auntie...everything she did was hysterical to him!)

This is where I CRAWL!

Crawling is so much fun! Colton can go any where he wants...at a VERY fast pace. Daddy and Mommy have to move VERY quickly to keep up with this adventurous little boy. We've baby-proofed, well not the cabinets in the kitchen or bathrooms but that's on the to-do list because I am sure he'll figure out how to open them soon.

The best part of this quick moving crawler...he still loves to snuggle with us.
We love that the most.

 Finding more doors and drawers...

You know, this is the best spot in the house for door stops. Two, TWO!!, on one corner. Doesn't get much better than this for entertainment!

I adore his intense concentration in making the door stops make their distinctive noise as they vibrate from side to side.
for a bit of comparison...

craziness, right??
