Colorado Trip part 1

This is the 2nd year we have flown to Colorado for Wes to attend the local coordinator training for Week of Hope, a community service mission trip for high school students. Last summer was such a success that he signed up for next summer as well. God did amazing work through the community service projects in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City that Wes coordinated; we can't wait to see what next summer brings!



Saturday night and we're on our way to the Las Vegas airport!
Colton really enjoyed having a buddy in the backseat with him. He put on quite a show! It was cute how he kept looking over to double check I was still sitting there.

  

Prior to boarding Colton was active!! (When is he not?? Ummm...never!!)
Our flight was to depart at 7pm and arrive at 8pm (Mountain Time). Colton did great on flight. Nursed and slept during take-off. Woke up to play with us and then did great on decent. No cries. Just a happy baby!

We left with our rental car at 10:45 pm (after some hurdles and super negotiating skills on Wes' behalf). Our rental rocked...it was a newer version of our mini van...except it was fancy with automatic doors and hatch back and a cool rust orange color. What a fun treat! We arrived at our hotel in Loveland, CO at midnight. Colton didn't want to go back to sleep after his hour nap in the van. So, our bedtime was about 1 am.
We. were. very. tired.
and Colton wanted to play.



On Sunday, Pat (Wes' aunt) and Chris drove from Walden, CO to visit us. It was so much fun to spend the day with them!!! Colton was his charming self and Pat and Chris thoroughly enjoyed him!

Aunt Pat was so thoughtful and made Colton a toy full of his favorite things.

It was so sweet...Pat said to me, "He looks just like I thought he would after seeing all his pictures on the blog!"
It's true...he does. That's why I take soooo many photos. This blog is a memory keeper for us in a scrapbook-ish way and a great way to keep our family and friends in the loop of Colton's happenings. Blogging is a perfect thing I think!

We are in love with his feet.
Wes hates feet...but he can't seem to leave Colton's feet alone. Sweet, huh?

Colton wasn't quite sure what to think of the grass at first.
We sat him down and he spun around in a circle on his bottom, then cried til we picked him up.

These next pictures are once he is okay with the texture of the grass.
In this picture you can see he is thinking deeply about picking some grass.

and into the mouth it goes! 

 It was a cycle: grab a handful of grass, yank it out of the ground, and stuff into mouth as quickly as possible and maybe Dad or Mom won't see me.
He certainly kept us busy!
